Samenscholingsverbod in centrum Almere wegens vechtpartijen en drugsoverlast 23.02.2026

Almere Centrum has implemented a six-month ban on public gatherings in response to escalating street intimidation, fights, and drug-related disturbances. The prohibition covers specific areas including Stadswetering, Weerwater (excluding Flevoziekenhuis), De Pier, Delfzijlsingel, and the Central Station. Violators face fines or arrest. Authorities have noted a recent surge in disputes, loud music, shouting, and harassment of pedestrians, with Stadhuisplein and Forum frequently used for pre-arranged street fights, often organized online. This measure follows an incident in January where minors were arrested after a fight on Stadhuisplein, involving the assault of a 14-year-old boy. The policy will be evaluated after its initial six-month period.
