Samia set for bilateral talks with Putin at Kremlin 03.06.2026

President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania is scheduled to hold significant bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, during a three-day state visit aimed at bolstering diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations. Arriving in Moscow on Tuesday, President Hassan's agenda includes receiving an Honorary Doctorate from Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia and participating in the 29th St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2026) to attract investment for Tanzania's Vision 2050. The visit also features a Tanzania-Russia Business Forum, seeking to enhance trade which, though growing, remains modest, with Tanzanian exports to Russia increasing from $7.5 million in 2020 to $29.5 million in 2025.
