Samsung AI workers could get up to €350,000 yearly bonus in union win 28.05.2026

Samsung Electronics has reached a profit-sharing agreement with its AI semiconductor workers in Korea, averting an 18-day strike. The deal, approved by 74% of over 60,000 union members, grants semiconductor employees a performance bonus equivalent to 10.5% of the company’s earnings, payable in stock. This could result in bonuses of up to €350,000 per employee if Samsung's operating profit reaches an estimated €172 billion this year. This agreement marks Samsung as only the second company globally known to have such a profit-sharing arrangement with AI workers, with similar demands emerging from employees at other Korean tech firms like LG and Kakao, and comparisons drawn to SK Hynix's profit allocation and TSMC's bonus increases.
