Commission d’enquête sur l’audiovisuel : Samuel Étienne ne digère pas l’arrêt de « Questions pour un champion » en semaine11 min 24.02.2026

Samuel Étienne, former host of France 3's "Questions pour un champion," testified before a parliamentary commission investigating public broadcasting neutrality, expressing his strong disapproval of the decision to cease weekday broadcasts of the game show. He argued that the program maintained good viewership and was one of France 3's most cost-effective offerings, suggesting the cancellation in June, effective for the 2025-2026 season, was primarily driven by budget cuts. Étienne also detailed his departure from France Télévisions a year prior, describing it as an unwelcome rupture conventionnelle after 17 years of service, which significantly reduced his work with the show's producer, Fremantle, to approximately 10 days annually. He maintained that the decision to move "Questions pour un champion" solely to weekends was a poor one for a program he considers "extraordinary" and "very public service."
