Santé : hospitalisation, urgences… Ces "forfaits" non remboursés risquent de coûter plus cher aux patients 23.02.2026

The French government plans to increase several patient "forfaits" for hospitalizations and emergency room visits, aiming to save the Social Security over 400 million euros annually. These increases, detailed in four draft decrees and one draft order, are set to take effect starting March 1st and April 1st. The daily hospital fee will rise from 20 to 23 euros, with psychiatric stays increasing from 15 to 17 euros. The emergency room forfait (FPU) for non-hospitalized patients will go from 19.61 to 23 euros, and a reduced FPU for vulnerable patients will increase from 8.49 to 9.96 euros. Additionally, the forfait for costly medical care exceeding 120 euros will rise from 24 to 32 euros. While these amounts are typically covered by complementary health insurance, approximately 4% of the French population, or 2.5 million individuals, lack such coverage and will bear these costs directly.
