SAR operation for missing hiker scaled down 04.06.2026

The search and rescue operation for Jaslinda Saludin, a 49-year-old hiker who went missing 11 days ago at Gunung Batu Putih, Tapah, has been scaled down and will now be led by the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM). The extensive operation, involving 116 personnel from various agencies including police, Civil Defence Force, and Forestry Department, has covered 95% of the hiking area without success. This decision was made after considering the duration of the search, the completion of extensive searches, and injuries sustained by some rescuers. Police are continuing their investigation, taking statements from the 13 individuals who accompanied Saludin on her trek, which began on May 23.
