SCP waarschuwt dat kwetsbaren harder geraakt worden door coalitieplannen 23.02.2026

The Social and Cultural Planning Bureau (SCP) has warned that the new coalition government's plans, as outlined in the coalition agreement, may disproportionately impact vulnerable populations. While acknowledging the government's intent to simplify complex care and social security systems, the SCP highlights that such simplification can reduce targeted support for those most in need. The SCP notes that although the plans include provisions for the chronically ill and those living in poverty, they exhibit a "limited eye" for broader consequences, such as the digital divide affecting those less adept with technology, disparities in healthy life expectancy, and the financial impact of climate policies. Despite the government's emphasis on local initiatives and community spaces, the SCP questions whether these measures are sufficient to protect vulnerable individuals, particularly concerning policies on healthcare, social security, and extended working lives, which could exacerbate inequality.
