SEK-Einsatz vor CDU-Zentrale – Polizei nimmt Mann mit Schwert fest 23.02.2026

A significant police operation unfolded on Monday evening outside the Konrad-Adenauer-Haus in Berlin-Tiergarten after a man armed with a sword was reported. Police were alerted around 5 PM to the Klingelhöferstraße, where the individual allegedly threatened to take his own life. The SEK (Special Einsatzkommando) apprehended the man around 6:30 PM, and he was subsequently transported to a hospital. The area surrounding the CDU headquarters was cordoned off, with approximately 70 officers involved. Authorities have stated that, based on current information, there is no discernible connection between the incident and the CDU party headquarters. The man, reportedly around 40 years old and speaking German, also claimed to have explosives in his jacket, contributing to the extensive security measures.
