Jinggoy Estrada suspension started June 22, 2026 — Senate Sec. Bantug 25.06.2026

The Senate officially began the 90-day preventive suspension of Senator Jinggoy Estrada on Monday, June 22, as ordered by the Sandiganbayan. Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. announced that Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian had notified Estrada’s office of the implementation. The suspension stems from a pending graft charge related to Estrada’s alleged involvement in the flood control mess. The Sandiganbayan Second Division imposed the preventive suspension earlier this month.
