Lok King-fung (34), a Senior Inspector in the police force, was charged with three counts of common assault after allegedly engaging in a dispute with his wife over the discipline of their children and assaulting her three times at their residence in The Sunrise Kai Tak, Tseung Kwan O, on February 28, 2025. During a hearing at the Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts today (3rd), the prosecution stated they agreed to handle the case via a bind-over. Magistrate Yau Kwok-sun ultimately approved the defendant's self-binding of HK$1,500 to keep the peace for 24 months, and the three charges were withdrawn. The defendant is also required to pay HK$300 in court costs. It is understood that the defendant has been suspended from duty.
