Shein hit with new €22 million fines 03.06.2026

French authorities have levied a total of €22 million in fines against the Chinese e-commerce company Shein. The Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) announced two sanctions on June 3, stemming from investigations conducted in 2025. A €16.7 million fine was issued for failing to include essential order details such as price, seller name, and delivery times in customer confirmation emails, despite the information being accessible via user accounts. An additional €5.7 million fine was imposed for non-compliance with the right of withdrawal and a lack of environmental information. Shein has contested these fines, deeming them disproportionate and discriminatory, and announced its intention to appeal the decision.
