Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, at 39 years old, has been appointed as the youngest leader of a Parliamentary Friendship Group, heading the India-Indonesia group. This initiative, part of the 18th Lok Sabha's formation of 64 such groups with various countries, aims to bolster India's diplomatic ties and people-to-people relations. Shinde, a three-term MP and son of Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, expressed pride in the appointment, emphasizing the potential to deepen cultural, economic, and social partnerships. This marks his second time leading an international parliamentary delegation, following a previous visit to several African nations and the UAE in May 2025. NCP SP MP Supriya Sule was also appointed president of the India-Singapore Parliamentary Friendship Group.
