A non-swimmer from Singapore nearly drowned at Sentosa's Palawan Beach on the evening of July 31, 2026, after entering deep water with five friends. According to Shin Min Daily News, the 25-year-old victim, identified only as Mou Hao's friend, was found with only half his head above water. Mou Hao jumped in to rescue him, but the panicking victim grabbed him tightly, causing both to sink. Mou Hao choked on water multiple times before his friend lost consciousness, allowing him to drag him to shore.
