Ng Siew Teng, 28, was sentenced on August 5, 2026, for facilitating the illegal importation and sale of puppies from Malaysia into Singapore between October and December 2023. She faced 13 charges under the Animals and Birds Act and pleaded guilty to five, with the rest considered during sentencing. Ng and her husband, Callurn Lim Yuan Jin, sought to earn additional income by exploiting the price difference of puppies in Malaysia. They purchased puppies from a Malaysian supplier found via TikTok, smuggling them in plastic containers placed in car boots. Ng sold 21 puppies through an Instagram account, earning approximately S$21,000 in profit, with S$1,000 profit per puppy.
