Sjoemelende makelaars nog steeds hardnekkig probleem, meldpunt heropend 24.02.2026

The VEH (Vereniging van Eigenaars) has reopened its reporting point for consumers due to persistent issues with real estate agents manipulating the bidding process. This follows signals from consumers and research by the program Radar, which surveyed over 3500 individuals involved in property transactions over the past five years. The VEH criticizes the sector's self-regulation, particularly the NVM's bidding protocol, which they argue still allows for practices like bid-shopping and pressure on buyers, leaving consumers vulnerable. Radar's findings indicate that 43% of buyers received guiding information from selling agents, leading 64% to adjust their bids, often upwards. The VEH advocates for legally mandated minimum requirements for the bidding process, certified bidding software, and independent oversight with sanctions. The Tweede Kamer has also called for a uniform and transparent bidding process.
