Daniela Maier of Germany secured the gold medal in the skicross event at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on Friday, February 20th, in Livigno. Maier, who also won bronze in Beijing, triumphed over Switzerland's Fanny Smith and Sweden's Sandra Naeslund in the final. French skier Marielle Berger Sabbatel, competing in her final professional season at 36 years old, narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing in fourth place after a photo-finish qualification for the final. Other French competitors, Jade Grillet Aubert, Anouck Errard, and Mylène Ballet Baz, finished 6th, and were eliminated in the quarterfinals, respectively.
