The Small Business Association of Australia (SBAA) has issued a dire warning about the state of small businesses nationwide, reporting a record number of closures. SBAA chief executive Anne Nalder described the current period as the worst in decades, driven primarily by severe cash flow shortages. She emphasized that without cash in the bank, businesses cannot survive, regardless of pending invoices or contracts, citing Australian Taxation Office (ATO) figures as evidence of the crisis.
