Soudan : les paramilitaires revendiquent la prise d’une ville frontalière au Tchad 21.02.2026

Paramilitary forces have claimed control of Al-Tina, a strategic town on Sudan's border with Chad, on Saturday, February 21, 2026. This advance follows their December capture of two neighboring towns and comes amidst growing international concern over attacks on medical facilities. The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) stated they have "total control" of Al-Tina in North Darfur, a region where they already dominate following the army's loss of El-Facher in late October, an event reportedly marked by atrocities. The conflict, ongoing since April 2023 between the army and RSF, has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and displaced 14 million people, creating what the UN calls the world's worst humanitarian crisis. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported five attacks on medical structures in the first 50 days of 2026, causing 69 deaths and 49 injuries, highlighting the severe disruption to healthcare.
