Four individuals suspected of involvement in a drug-related homicide have been released from custody due to a series of judicial oversights. The errors, stemming from the misclassification of a procedural document, have nullified six months of a priority investigation by the Parisian judicial police. The case began on July 14, 2024, in Bagnolet (Seine-Saint-Denis), where Mamadou B. was fatally shot by assailants on scooters. Investigators believe Mamadou B. was mistakenly targeted, with the intended victim being the security head of a highly profitable cannabis dealing operation known as "le Rungis du cannabis," which generates approximately 50,000 euros weekly. This significant procedural failure has prompted concern at the highest levels of the justice ministry.
