Seoul police have conducted a raid on the Korea Football Association (KFA) headquarters as part of an "obstruction of business" investigation into the appointment of former national team coach Hong Myung-bo. Hong, who previously coached the team from 2013 to 2014, returned to the role in 2024 after the KFA abruptly ended a months-long search for foreign candidates and appointed him following a brief meeting. The controversy resurfaced after South Korea's disappointing FIFA World Cup campaign, which ended in a group-stage exit.
