South Sudan, the world's youngest nation, is intensifying preparations for its first general election since independence in 2011 by training more than 5,000 police personnel in Warrap State. The training, conducted across six counties, includes drills, arms management, and instruction in law and police science over a 45-day period. Warrap State Police Commissioner Major General James Monday Enoka confirmed that 41 professional trainers are leading the program, which aims to strengthen discipline, professionalism, and operational readiness ahead of the December 22, 2026 elections.
