A recent study by ADP analyzing hiring, wages, and affordability for college graduates in their 20s across 53 major U.S. metro areas reveals a trend of Southern cities dominating the job market for new graduates. Birmingham, Alabama, and Tampa, Florida, topped the list, with Birmingham excelling in all three metrics and Tampa leading in hiring. These cities are followed by San Jose, California, and Columbus, Ohio. The study highlights an uneven recovery in graduate hiring, with several Southern cities like Raleigh, Tulsa, Nashville, and Charlotte also appearing in the top 10. Conversely, cities like Milwaukee, Baltimore, and Austin, which were highly ranked last year, have seen significant drops in their standing.
