Spektakulärer Lost Place: Führungen durch Frankfurts verlassenes Präsidium sind begehrt 23.02.2026

Andreas Gerlach, a journalist and radio editor, leads popular tours through Frankfurt's abandoned former police headquarters, a "lost place" steeped in history. These tours, which have been ongoing for five years, offer a glimpse into the building's past, including its cells which once held prominent figures like Joschka Fischer and Gudrun Ensslin. The tours, costing 29 Euros, are currently approved by the insolvency administrator until the end of August, with potential for continuation. Gerlach, fascinated by the stories behind abandoned locations, also photographs them, with an exhibition currently running. The building, located at Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage 5-11 in the Gallus district, was sold in 2018 for 212.5 million Euros to an investor who later went bankrupt, halting plans for redevelopment into housing and other facilities.
