This sacred site preserves ancient customs through daily rituals, annual festivals like Navaratri and Thaipusam, and life-cycle ceremonies such as weddings and naming ceremonies, strictly adhering to traditional practices and attire. The temple's interior, repainted in 2023 with funding from George Town World Heritage Incorporated, features rich iconography and sculptures, with upcoming renovations in two years for the Kumbabishekam consecration ceremony, ensuring the preservation of its heritage status within the UNESCO World Heritage site.
