Still facing copyright lawsuits, AI music generator Suno raises another $400M 03.06.2026

AI music generation company Suno announced a $400 million Series D funding round on Wednesday, achieving a $5.4 billion valuation. This significant investment comes just seven months after Suno's previous funding round at a $2.45 billion valuation, indicating strong investor confidence despite ongoing copyright infringement lawsuits. Suno admits to training its AI on copyrighted music, asserting fair use, but faces legal challenges from major music labels including Universal Music Group, Sony, and GEMA. These lawsuits have escalated, with allegations growing from 560 to over 61,000 copyrighted works used without permission. Despite this, Suno maintains a strong presence in app store charts, with users reportedly generating over 7 million songs daily. The funding round was led by Bond Capital, with participation from numerous other investors, including existing ones.
