Streit über Druschba-Pipeline Slowakei droht Ukraine mit Ende von Stromlieferungen 22.02.2026

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has threatened to halt electricity exports to Ukraine if oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline are not restored by Monday. The pipeline, which transports Russian oil to Slovakia, has been out of operation for over three weeks, prompting Slovakia to declare an oil emergency and release 250,000 tons of crude oil reserves to its Slovnaft refinery, enough for approximately one month of production. Fico alleges Ukrainian sabotage, claiming intelligence suggests the damaged section is repaired and that Ukraine is intentionally blocking oil flow, potentially as retaliation for Slovakia and Hungary's critical stance on EU aid to Ukraine and their continued purchase of Russian oil. He also suggests a political motive, linking the issue to pressure on Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán regarding Ukraine's EU membership aspirations.
