Studie: Generation Z sieht sich finanziell bessergestellt – Babyboomer deutlich pessimistischer 22.02.2026

A recent study by TeamBank, based on a survey of 3100 individuals conducted by YouGov in September 2025, reveals a stark contrast in financial outlook between Germany's Generation Z and Baby Boomers. While the financial situation for many Germans remains stagnant or has worsened, 36% of those aged 18-29 reported an improvement in their finances over the past twelve months, compared to only 11% of those aged 50-79. Looking ahead, only 10% of young Germans anticipate financial deterioration in the next three to five years, while 41% of the 50+ demographic expect their financial situation to worsen. Despite Baby Boomers being the wealthiest generation, they exhibit significantly more pessimism about their future financial prospects than the younger, more optimistic Generation Z.
