Sultan of Pahang urges caution during water activities in high-risk areas 11h ago

The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, have issued a strong advisory for the public to exercise extreme caution during water activities, particularly in hazardous locations like beaches and rivers. They emphasized the critical importance of safety measures, including the mandatory use of life jackets in open waters and the avoidance of any unsupervised or potentially dangerous pursuits. The Royal couple specifically urged parents and guardians to maintain constant vigilance over their children's safety near water bodies. This public safety appeal was made following the tragic drowning deaths of two students, 16-year-old Luqman Kamil Jamaluddin and 18-year-old Muhammad Fauzan Aziman Mohd Saad, in separate incidents in Kuantan and Maran on the same day, prompting the Royals to offer their condolences to the bereaved families.
