A tragic traffic accident occurred at kilometer 1,314 of the Panamericana Sur highway, in the Hospicio sector of the Tacna region, near the Chilean border. The victim was identified as 20-year-old Henry Luis Montalico Apaza, who was riding a motorcycle with license plate 9011-GZ. The impact against a red Toyota double cab pickup truck, license plate Z7F-925, was of such magnitude that the motorcyclist died at the scene due to severe internal and external injuries.
