Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has informed TVK President C Joseph Vijay that his party lacks the necessary majority to form the government in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. This was conveyed during their second meeting at Lok Bhavan on Thursday, following the April 23 polls where TVK secured 108 seats, falling short of the 118-seat majority threshold. The Congress party, which won five seats, has offered its support to TVK. Despite this, the Governor has indicated that TVK has not yet established the requisite majority support for government formation.
