« Une puissance de feu » : les États-Unis, qui se déploient au Moyen-Orient, pourraient frapper l’Iran dès ce week-endà 01h45 19.02.2026

The United States is escalating its military presence in the Middle East, deploying a significant naval and air force, which could precede strikes against Iran as early as this weekend, according to CNN and CBS reports. President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened military intervention if diplomatic talks regarding Iran's nuclear program do not yield an agreement, despite withdrawing the U.S. from a previous deal in 2018. The U.S. military's deployment includes thirteen warships in the region, such as the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, and the USS Gerald Ford is en route with three destroyers. This substantial "firepower" in the region, including stealth fighters and surveillance aircraft, creates a dynamic that could be difficult to de-escalate, as noted by analyst Susan Ziadeh. While diplomatic discussions have resumed, with sessions held in Muscat and near Geneva, significant differences remain on key issues, with the White House emphasizing that Iran has not accepted certain American "red lines."
