Providence, Rhode Island, recorded 83 cm of snow, with potential to reach 90 cm. Eight states, including New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts, declared a state of emergency due to the severe weather, which also caused power outages for approximately 570,000 homes, with over 285,000 in Massachusetts alone.
