Thailand passes 14m foreign tourists as Malaysia arrivals surge 03.06.2026

Thailand welcomed over 14 million foreign tourists from January 1 to May 31, 2026, generating approximately THB 679.274 billion in revenue, despite a 2.30% decrease in arrivals compared to the previous period. This spike in short-haul travel is attributed to regional holidays such as Eid al-Fitr and Vesak Day. The top five source markets for tourists during this period were China, Malaysia, India, Russia, and South Korea, with Singapore notably rising to become the fourth-largest market.
