Thaipakdee MP alleges national oil heist over 700 million litres 09.04.2026

Thaipakdee Party MP Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom alleged in Parliament on April 9, 2026, that a significant amount of diesel, potentially up to 727.6 million litres, disappeared from Thailand's supply chain between mid-March and the end of the month. He disputes the government's explanation of panic buying, instead suggesting hoarding or corruption at major refineries and distribution depots is responsible for the shortages experienced by petrol stations. Dr. Warong urged Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to investigate this "national oil heist" and the "plundering of the nation's oil," comparing it to a previous "fake rice-pledging scheme" he exposed. He also called for broader anti-corruption measures and reduced state spending.
