The 15-minute call where hundreds of 'devastated' Brewdog staff were made redundant 03.03.2026

Hundreds of Brewdog staff were made redundant following the company's administration and a £33m sale of parts of its business to Tilray on Monday. Beverage and cannabis firm Tilray acquired Brewdog's UK brewing operations, brand, and 11 pubs, transferring 733 staff. However, 38 other bars across the UK were immediately closed, resulting in the loss of 484 jobs. Unions have condemned the redundancy process, describing it as "morally repugnant" and "devastated" for staff who were informed of their job losses during a brief 15-minute conference call with little notice and no opportunity for questions. Equity holders, including those from the "Equity for Punks" scheme, will receive no return on their investments.
