Three People And Dog Rescued Off Munxar After Getting Stranded In Rough Seas 06.07.2026

This afternoon, a rescue operation was successfully conducted off Munxar, Marsaskala, after three individuals and a dog became stranded at sea. The group, consisting of two adults, one youth, and a canine companion, were unable to paddle their kayak back to the shore due to increasingly rough sea conditions. Rescuers from the Civil Protection Department (CPD) Fire Station 5 were immediately dispatched to the scene to address the emergency. CPD rescue swimmers reached the stranded party and safely transported everyone aboard the CPD RHIB Delta 2 rescue vessel. Upon returning to the shore, the individuals were assessed by responders, and fortunately, none required medical treatment. This incident highlights the critical importance for those using small watercraft to verify weather and sea conditions before departing to ensure safety on the water.
