Three vehicles involved - 9 injured in mass crash in Styria 07.07.2026

On Tuesday afternoon around 3:55 PM, a serious mass crash occurred on the L111 in Styria, involving a collision of three vehicles in a right-hand curve. For reasons yet to be determined, a 52-year-old female driver drifted into the oncoming lane, triggering a chain reaction. She first grazed the vehicle of a 41-year-old woman from Salzburg, causing it to spin 90 degrees, and was subsequently hit head-on by a 52-year-old man from Graz. A total of nine people were injured, including a 48-year-old woman from the Graz-Umgebung district who sustained serious injuries and had to be flown to the UKH Graz via rescue helicopter C17. The accident site had to be completely closed until approximately 5:25 PM. The emergency response involved the police, the volunteer fire departments of Tragöß and St. Katharein, and the Red Cross with 17 emergency personnel. Police are currently conducting investigations into the cause of the accident.
