Tod eines Rechtsradikalen in Lyon: Vier Verdächtige festgenommen 17.02.2026

Four suspects have been arrested in Lyon, France, in connection with the fatal beating of a 23-year-old far-right extremist named Quentin Deranque. The incident occurred on Thursday, February 13, 2026, when Deranque was attacked by a group of masked individuals. Authorities revealed on Tuesday evening, February 17, 2026, that one of the detainees reportedly works for a deputy of the left-wing populist party La France Insoumise (LFI). Deranque was known to have ties to ultra-right groups and was present at protests against an event hosted by LFI MEP Rima Hassan at a Lyon university. The far-right group Némésis stated Deranque was attempting to protect activists intending to disrupt the left-wing event. The prosecutor's office is investigating the case as manslaughter, which has ignited heated political debate in France, prompting President Emmanuel Macron to call for calm.
