Todes-Raser vor Gericht: Er hatte bei Flucht 20-jährigen BRK-Helfer getötet – Eltern schließen sich Klage an 19.02.2026

A 21-year-old man is on trial in Kempten for a fatal hit-and-run in Kaufbeuren on August 23, 2025, where he was fleeing a police checkpoint at speeds up to 180 km/h in a 240-horsepower vehicle. The prosecution is seeking a life sentence, arguing for intent to kill due to his continued reckless driving after near-collisions with police. The defense is requesting a three-year sentence for negligent homicide, dangerous interference with road traffic, and fleeing the scene, asserting the defendant did not intend the accident. The crash resulted in the death of a 20-year-old driver, with injuries to his passengers and the defendant's co-driver. The victim's parents are participating as co-plaintiffs, supporting the prosecution's demand for a life sentence. The defendant, who had consumed cocaine and alcohol and lacked a license, was apprehended in Poland in early September 2025 and is currently in pre-trial detention.
