Top leader calls for breakthroughs to unlock national creativity through cultural development 14.07.2026

Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm addressed the Central Steering Committee on the Development of Vietnamese Culture in Hà Nội, urging breakthroughs to unleash national creativity over the next six months. He identified four major gaps: limited appeal of positive cultural values in the digital environment, insufficient capacity to transform cultural heritage into digital resources, low competitiveness of Vietnamese cultural products, and shortcomings in the institutional framework for cultural industries. Lâm called for three major shifts: from managing culture to enabling its development, expanding from physical to digital spaces, and balancing conservation with innovation and sustainable development.
