France has once again solidified its position as the world's leading tourist destination, welcoming 102 million international visitors in 2025, a two million increase from the previous year. This surge in tourism generated a record 77.5 billion euros in revenue, marking a 9% annual rise for the sector. While German tourists led the growth in overnight stays, American visitors also showed a significant increase of 17%, though Asian tourism, particularly from China, has yet to fully recover to pre-pandemic levels. Despite this success, France faces increasing competition, notably from Spain, which claims a higher financial return from its 97 million tourists. To maintain its market share, France is focusing on innovation, including developing new tourism sectors like agritourism and enotourism, and leveraging technology, such as artificial intelligence, to enhance visitor experiences.
