Transparency, Accountability, and Good Governance are Desired 03.07.2026

To build a transparent, accountable, just, drug-free, corruption-free, non-discriminatory, and prosperous Bangladesh, the collective efforts, mutual cooperation, and sincerity of the people, public representatives, political leaders, government officials, teachers, parents, religious leaders, and conscious citizens are essential. The people's expectations of the state, earned through the sacrifices of various mass movements starting from the Language Movement of '52, are immense, and protecting these is the primary responsibility of the state and the government. It is imperative to foster a political culture where political parties fulfill their electoral promises, public representatives do not neglect their duties, and are held accountable or voluntarily resign if they fail to uphold their commitments. Those entering politics must transform their honesty, ethics, and conduct, and transparency, accountability, and good governance must be ensured at all levels of the state and politics. An environment must be created that enables government officials and employees to perform their duties with honesty, dedication, and neutrality; if political identity or influence is used to obstruct public welfare activities, a zero-tolerance policy must be followed. Development programs allocated for the poor must be implemented with honesty and fairness, it must be ensured that all government development works meet prescribed standards, contractors and relevant authorities must be compelled to adhere to contract terms, and embezzlement, misuse of public funds, or violations of policy must be strictly prevented. Upon receiving allegations of financial irregularities or corruption, it is urgent to investigate and take punitive measures according to existing laws, and to hold public representatives and officials morally, socially, administratively, and legally accountable to ensure the proper use of every penny of the people's money. A strong social movement and increased public awareness must be raised against drugs, corruption, money laundering, abuse of power, bribery, extortion, terrorism, land grabbing, gambling, and all forms of social degradation. Moral education, human values, patriotism, and a sense of social responsibility must be awakened in educational institutions, religious institutions, families, and social organizations. Family, society, and the state must work in coordination to keep young people away from drugs and crime by engaging them in education, employment, sports, culture, and creative activities. When allegations of crime, corruption, abuse of power, or law violations arise, swift, impartial, and effective justice must be ensured, and perpetrators must be given exemplary punishment.
