Treffen in Indien Bill Gates sagt Auftritt bei KI-Gipfel ab 19.02.2026

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has canceled his appearance at the AI Impact Summit in India, following recent revelations of documents related to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The Gates Foundation stated the decision was to ensure the summit's focus remained on its core priorities, though specific reasons were not provided. Gates' speech was reportedly scheduled for today. This cancellation follows that of Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, due to "unforeseen circumstances." The summit has also been marred by a scandal involving a robot dog falsely presented as an Indian innovation, causing embarrassment for the host nation. Additionally, logistical issues like traffic chaos due to road closures, a lack of shuttle services, and unexpected closure of exhibition halls have plagued the event. Despite these setbacks, prominent figures like Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UN Secretary-General António Guterres delivered speeches, and significant investment announcements were made, including a collaboration agreement between Germany and India on AI and substantial investments in AI data centers by Indian conglomerates Adani and Reliance, as well as US cloud providers.
