Kosovo court jails three Serb separatists over 2023 Banjska attack 24.04.2026

A court in Pristina, Kosovo, has sentenced three ethnic Serbs to lengthy prison terms for their involvement in a deadly secessionist attack in the village of Banjska on September 24, 2023. Blagoje Spasojevic and Vladimir Tolic received life sentences, while Dusan Maksimovic was sentenced to 30 years. The court determined that the defendants, using heavy weaponry, attempted to detach the Serb-populated northern region of Kosovo and annex it to Serbia, an action that resulted in the deaths of one Kosovo police officer and three attackers. Milan Radoicic, a businessman with ties to Serbia's leadership, has admitted to organizing the attack. Kosovo has accused Serbia of state backing, which Serbia denies.
