The proposal lifts certain federal mandates on student-to-staff ratios, which could increase teacher workloads, and scraps some transportation requirements, including for school bus monitors, potentially creating barriers for parents. It also mandates that instruction be primarily in English while introducing new dietary guidelines and requiring 30 minutes of physical activity for every 3.5 hours of classroom time.
