U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday, February 19th, the launch of a $75 million fund, partly financed by FIFA, to reconstruct football infrastructure in the Gaza Strip. This initiative, revealed during the inaugural "Peace Council" meeting in Washington, aims to rebuild the enclave devastated by over two years of war between Hamas and Israel. The plan, set to commence when security conditions permit and last for three years, includes the construction of 50 FIFA Arena mini-pitches, five standard-sized fields, a high-end FIFA Academy, and a new 20,000-seat national stadium. FIFA President Gianni Infantino, present at the event, expressed his satisfaction with the "historic partnership agreement" designed to support post-conflict reconstruction through football investment.
