Trump memecoin investors lost $3.8 billion, analysis finds 17h ago

An analysis by cryptocurrency analytics firm Nansen reveals that nearly 1 million investors have lost a total of $3.8 billion through the $TRUMP memecoin. As of late June, approximately 988,905 accounts recorded losses, representing roughly two-thirds of all buyers. The token's value has plummeted, trading at $1.69, which is a nearly 98% decrease from its peak of $75.35. Financial disclosures indicate President Trump earned $636 million from the $TRUMP memecoin, contributing significantly to his $1.4 billion total crypto earnings last year. This follows the launch of his World Liberty Financial startup with his sons, which also saw value declines. Amidst these market shifts, the SEC has indicated it will not regulate memecoins as securities, while a White House spokesperson stated that the administration has made the United States the crypto capital of the world.
