Tunisian cinema honored once again in Switzerland 07.07.2026

Tunisian cinema is receiving international recognition during the 20th edition of the African Film Festival in Lausanne, taking place from August 13 to 16, 2026. Tunisian director Walid Tayaa will present his short film titled "Sursis," a work that explores the traces left by collective traumas through a unique aesthetic based on silence and off-screen space. This film, which was previously selected for official competition at the Carthage Film Festival in 2025, will be screened twice during the event. Screenings are scheduled for Thursday, August 13 at 6:30 PM at the Paderewski cinema, as well as Saturday, August 15 at 10:30 AM at the Salle des fêtes. This event highlights the growing importance of Tunisian filmmakers on the Swiss cultural scene.
