Australian TV reporter Danika Mason has publicly apologized for a drunken live appearance during a broadcast from the Italian Alps for the Winter Games. Mason, a well-known journalist for Channel Nine, slurred her words and spoke incoherently about unrelated topics such as coffee prices and iguanas, much to the confusion of her studio colleagues. She attributed her behavior to a combination of factors including the cold climate, high altitude, not having eaten dinner, and alcohol consumption. Mason expressed deep embarrassment and took full responsibility for her actions, stating it was uncharacteristic. Despite the incident, studio host Karl Stefanovic and even Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese offered support, with Albanese suggesting fatigue and jet lag were understandable reasons for her state.
