On May 5, a tragic two-vehicle collision at the Simpang Tiga Manik Urai Lama junction in Kuala Krai resulted in two fatalities and three injuries. The 9:12 a.m. incident involved a Perodua Kembara and a Honda City. Authorities confirmed the deaths of 64-year-old Perodua driver Mohd Yusof Mat Yasim and 20-year-old Honda City passenger Muhamad Irfan Zaidin. Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station Chief Nik Ahmad Afsham Nik Pa reported that emergency responders arrived at 9:26 a.m. to extricate trapped victims. The three injured individuals include a 30-year-old woman with an intellectual disability, a 61-year-old senior citizen, and a 24-year-old person. Police and fire officials are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash to determine the primary cause of the accident.
